Healthy Halloween Treats

Get creative and stay healthy this Halloween with these ghoulish snack ideas.

Rice Crispy Treat Pumpkins

Rice Crispy Pumpkins

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot on low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until melted and well blended.
  3. Add in orange food colouring and mix well.
  4. Add dry cereal and stir until coated.
  5. Using a buttered spoon press the mixture into mini bunt pans.
  6. Let set slightly and remove from pan.
  7. Press two mold together to make a pumpkin.
  8. Decorate as desired.

Chocolate Coconut Melts  

Skull Fudge

Directions

  1. Warm coconut oil to liquefy.
  2. Stir in cocoa powder and honey.
  3. Blend well and pour into molds.
  4. Freeze and eat!

Monster Apples

Directions

  1. Carve and decorate your desired face in the apple.
  2. Spread jam or nut butter in the base of the mouth.
  3. Place sliced strawberry to make a tongue.
  4. Eat!

Apple Chips

Directions

  1. Slice apples about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Cut a shape in the center using a cookie cutter.
  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  4. Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet at 200°F for about 4 hours, or until the apples are dried but not crispy.

Spider Crackers

Directions

  1. Spread cream cheese on cracker.
  2. Place pretzels in cream cheese to hold in place.
  3. Top with another cracker.
  4. Add eyes of choice.
  5. Eat!

Mini Candy Apples

Directions

  1. Using a melon baller, cut small balls of apple.
  2. Insert stick and dip into melted chocolate.
  3. Dip the bottoms into your favourite toppings. We used chia seeds, coconut chips, and crushed chocolate bar.
  4. Enjoy!

  1. Cut banana in half.
  2. Add chocolate chips to make a face.
  3. Eat!
