Healthier Hot Cross Buns
Directions:
- Mix warm milk, maple syrup & yeast. Let foam (10 min).
- Stir in oil & egg. Add flour, spices, salt—mix into a dough.
- Knead 8–10 min until smooth. Add dried fruit.
- Let rise (1 hr), shape into 12 buns, rise again (30–45 min).
- Pipe cross paste on top.
- Bake at 375°F for 18–20 min.
Optional: brush with maple glaze while warm.
