Cherry Chia Jam

A simple-to-make cherry jam with out-of-this-world taste! All you need are fresh organic cherries, a bit of local honey and lemon, and voila! Your morning toast has never tasted this good!

Directions:

  1. Place the fruit, lemon juice and sweetener in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Simmer 15 minutes until it bubbles and starts to break down; use a fork to mash the fruit to your desired consistency. If you prefer a smooth jam, then blend in a food processor.
  2. Remove from the heat and stir in the chia seeds and let it sit for least 15 minutes to allow the chia seeds to gelatinize.
  3. The longer it sits the jammier it gets. Keep remainder in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator up to 10 days.
