How to make a positive mind shift

“You must learn a new way to think, before you can master a new way to be” – Marianne Williamson

Making a shift in thought patterns is the strongest and most effective way to impact your day-to-day life. Would you agree?

When you consciously make an effort to find the best in every situation, and consciously choose your reaction to a situation, you will set yourself up for a happier and more fulfilling life.

Every single day we are faced with an endless list of challenges. We ALL are, it’s not just you. Our lives are busy, packed to the brim with endless chores and tasks and then to top it off with a healthy balance or personal time, growth, family, friends, bucket list items… it seems totally crazy doesn’t it!

Shifting your reaction from the defensive and from the immediate negative response, will take practice. After a while you will notice that your negative thought patterns will become positive ideas to better serve the life you want to create.

Here are a few strategies that you can start right away and begin creating a life you love:

Everything is “figureoutable”.
What does this mean? Well, what I mean is, there is no problem great enough to not be solved. Become a master problem solver! Accept each challenge with open arms and figure it out!

Chill out!
If something doesn’t go as planned, that’s ok! I recently ordered a beautiful new white resin picnic table, when it arrived it was missing half it’s pieces… not to mention it showed up a month later than expected.

We called the company, they were great and sent us the missing parts, when the box showed up, it was STILL missing parts. Frustrating for sure, but not unsolvable! It’s just “the way the cookie crumbles” as my mom would say.

Positive affirmations.
You can and you will. Sometimes, simply repeating a positive affirmation over and over again will get you through a tough situation. “I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.” Find a mantra that helps keep you going.

Gratitude.
A few weeks ago I grabbed a starbucks at the drive-thru, didn’t place it in the holder properly and the lid opened and spilled everywhere…the whole cup. (insert sad face emoji) Aside from being devastated that my caffeine fix was soaking into the carpet… I chuckled and decided to be grateful that I even have a vehicle to spill things in. It can be as simple as that.

  1. how lucky am I that I can roll through my favourite coffee shop for my morning fix and
  2. that I have a car to spill in! Maybe it sounds silly, but for me it shifted my mind from being upset to grateful.

Next time you feel yourself getting upset or frustrated, ask yourself is it really that bad?

With a positive mindset you will always land on your feet. There is nothing you can’t get through, no matter what happens.

You are stronger than you think and you can get through anything.

Your mind shift doesn’t just magically happen, it will take practice. Baby steps for the rest of your life. Start today and begin to see the magic in every situation.
