Nothing beats cozying up with a warm mug of your favourite holiday blend on a chilly winter night. These four drinks are at the top of our winter must-haves list for delicious ways to stay warm and healthy this season.

Golden Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder, ground (or 1 tbsp fresh turmeric, grated)
  • 1 tsp ginger powder, ground (or 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated)
  • 4 cups milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
  • a few grinds black pepper

Directions

Vegan Eggnog Latte

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Silk unsweetened almond or cashew milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar or granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon rum extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon (a pinch) ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup hot, strong coffee (or two shots of espresso)
  • grated or ground nutmeg, for garnish

Directions

  1. Pour the almond milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, rum, and cloves in a glass pint jar (500 ml).
  2. Place the lid on the jar to tightly seal and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  3. Remove the lid from the jar, and microwave for 45 seconds.
  4. Repeat the above two steps two more times, or until the milk is hot and steamy. Remember, the jar does get hot, so use a dishtowel or oven mitt when handling it.
  5. Pour the hot coffee into your mug and using a spoon to hold back the foam in the milk, pour the milk into your coffee mug. Spoon the foam on top of your drink, sprinkle with ground nutmeg, and enjoy.
Reishi & Maca Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Botanica Reishi Hot Chocolate
  • 1 tsp Organika Maca + Cacao
  • 1 tbsp collagen powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • 1 tsp raw cacao
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • Optional: 1 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice
  • Optional Toppings: coconut whip and shaved dark chocolate

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the coconut milk and water over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the milk mixture and the rest of the ingredients to a blender.
  3. Blend on high for 20–30 seconds to get the drink frothy.
  4. Top with coconut whip and shaved dark chocolate. Serve immediately.
Spiced Cider

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spiced rum (optional)
  • 1 litre pure unsweetened apple juice
  • 2 cups pure unsweetened orange juice
  • ½ cup sugar, honey, or other sweetener (to taste)
  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks
  • tsp ground cloves

Direction

  1. Add all ingredients to a 4 quart or larger slow cooker. Stir.
  2. Cook 3–4 hours on low or until hot.
  3. Keep warm as long as needed by setting to low or warm.
