The Opportunity:

The Human Resources Department at Nature’s Fare Markets supports the success of the company, its team members, and customers, through the development and maintenance of strategic and value-added human resource programs, services and processes. Our department supports 450+ employees across 8 locations within BC.

The Human Resources Coordinator supports all department initiatives and programs by providing administrative support, coordinating communication and initiatives with employees and managers, and collaborating with the HR team on upcoming goals. The primary priorities of this role will be focused on internal communications, training and recruitment support, coordinating team building events and administrating health & safety programs.

You Can Expect To:

  • Draft department communications, including memos, letters and general correspondence, for upcoming initiatives including team building events, recruitment support, policies and procedures, and total rewards
  • Coordinate communication with managers and team members on HR initiatives to ensure programs and initiatives are executed effectively and all parties are involved on an appropriate timeline
  • Draft contracts, promotion or position change letters, progressive discipline letters, and letters of termination
  • Provide administrative support for training programs and initiatives, including:
  • Maintain online seminar enrollments for vendor trainings
  • Send enrollment reports to managers for upcoming trainings
  • Upload and track training certifications such as FoodSafe, Forklift, etc.
  • Coordinate training event logistics such as venue bookings, meals and travel arrangements
  • Provide administrative support, as needed, for all aspects of the recruiting process, including coordinating interviews, conducting phone screenings and drafting employment contracts
  • Accountable for execution of HR social events and initiatives, including monthly team building activities, team member swag, anniversary and holiday gifts
  • Administrate and coordinate the execution of the employee milestone program (recognition awards, birthdays, life events)
  • Help to nurture and grow Nature’s Fare’s company culture
  • Assist with maintaining WCB files and reports, advising and coordinating claim process, and drafting monthly OH&S topics
  • Participate in a supportive capacity on all HR projects

Qualifications We’re Looking for in a Coordinator:

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication, time management and organization skills
  • Post-secondary education in human resources management or business administration
  • Experience in a retail environment considered an asset, but not required
