Warts
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), of which there are many different types. The most familiar types of wart are common, plantar and genital. Warts can be found nearly anywhere on the body, in clusters or they can appear singly as well.
Symptoms May Include:
- Common warts: do not usually cause pain or itching—can be flat/ raised; dry/moist; rough/pitted surface; highly contagious
- Plantar warts: occur on soles of feet; bumpy white growths; tender to the touch; may bleed; don’t usually spread
- Genital warts: soft, most growths found in & around vagina / anus / penis / groin / scrotum
