Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is recognized by the inflammation of the palatine tonsils—the gathering of lymphatic tissue on both sides of the upper throat. Tonsillitis can be bacterial or viral and is most common in children. In adults tonsillitis – especially recurrent – may be a sign of weakened immunity and an improper diet. If tonsillitis is left untreated, it can lead to more serious complications.

Symptoms May Include:

  • Sore throat
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Hoarseness & coughing
  • Redness, pain & swelling in the tonsils
  • Headache & earache
  • Fever & chills
  • Nausea & vomiting
  • Nasal obstruction & discharge
  • Enlarged lymph nodes in body
