Hyperthyroidism
Hyperthyroidism is the result of an overactive thyroid gland, producing too much thyroid hormone. This speeds all of the body’s processes. Sometimes called Graves Disease, hyperthyroidism is less common than hypothyroidism. Hyperthyroidism may be temporary in response to certain medications or the result of lumps or tumors growing on the thyroid.
Symptoms May Include:
- Nervousness & irritability
- Constantly feeling hot
- Increased perspiration
- Insomnia & fatigue
- Increased bowel movements
- Less frequent periods
- Weakness
- Hair & weight loss
- Separation of nails from nail bed
- Rapid heart beat
