Flu (Influenza)
The flu is a highly contagious viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. There are two types of the influenza virus and because they are constantly changing, vaccines have had limited success in preventing the flu. Outbreaks generally occur in the winter months and may last up to month. Most flu’s are characterized as acute infections of the throat, nose, eyes and mouth.
Symptoms May Include:
- Headaches & head congestion
- Body aches
- Intense fatigue
- Nasal congestion
- Dry throat & cough
- Nausea & vomiting
- Fever – chills / shaking
- Initial 10-12 days the most severe followed by residual coughing & fatigue.
