Fibroids
Uterine fibroids are benign growths that form on the interior and / or the exterior of the uterus. These tumors range from microscopic to several pounds in size. The direct cause of fibroids is not known but they tend to form during a woman’s late thirties and early forties, disappearing or shrinking during menopause. Most women never know they have them, though they do seem to run in families. Removal of fibroids may be necessary for some.
