Arteriosclerosis
Arteriosclerosis is the result of calcium deposits building up inside the artery walls. Arteriosclerosis causes high blood pressure but can also be caused by high blood pressure which sets the stage for the tightening & hardening of arteries. If coronary arteries become obstructed by deposits or a blood clot gets caught on deposits, this can result in a heart attack. If arteriosclerosis obstructs blood flow to the brain, this can result in a stroke.
Symptoms May Include:
- High blood pressure
- Angina – chest pain
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Sudden cardiac death
