Abscess
An abscess occurs as a result of infection when pus accumulates in any tissue,organ, or other confined part of the body. Abscesses may be located internally or externally almost anywhere in the body. Usually the result of an infection (bacteria, virus, parasite or fungi) from injury or lowered immune resistance. Can be acute—appearing suddenly. Or, chronic—lasting for a period of weeks. An abscess is the body trying to rid itself of impurities.
Symptoms May Include:
- Swelling of affected area
- Inflammation of affected area
- Redness or hot feeling in area
- Fatigue
- Weight loss
- Fever / Chills
- Rupture of abscess releasing pus and / or blood from the area
